Merely learning facts is not enough to achieve the top marks: exam questions must always be answered in the correct manner, essays must be structured correctly. After weeks of cramming for an exam, it can be difficult to calmly sit down and pull out the relevant facts. Our pupils are taught how to plan an essay ensuring that their knowledge is given full credit, and they do themselves justice in the high pressured environment of important exams.
The same principal can be applied to the exam revision period. The sheer volume of material to be learned for exams can sometimes prove overwhelming. Our tutors will help get a handle on the subjects, and show the way in which areas and topics can be linked, making revision efficient. Their experience can help students to prioritise areas of revision, and cut out the wasteful rope learning which rarely transforms into high marks. A structured revision programme boosts confidence, and ensures that students go into their exams in the best state of mind.
GCSE Revision Course
Working in collaboration with Blackboard/Surfboard, we are offering a week-long Easter revision course for school students about to take their GCSEs. Accommodation is provided at Sennen Cove, Cornwall, and the one week course combines revision sessions and surfing lesssons, ensuring that students remain active and engaged during the final push before exams.
Tutors supervise and aid students' revision, while qualified surfing instructors, from the Smart Surf School, provide lessons every afternoon. The combination ensures that students are striking the right balance between work and fun, and preparing themselves perfectly for their upcoming GCSEs.
