English Literature
English Literature will encourage you to read widely in poetry, prose, and drama; it will also encourage you to engage creatively and critically with the texts you encounter. You should not limit your reading to the text prescribed in the specification, but explore other works that complement, illuminate, or indeed contrast with those suggested. You will read Shakespeare, and other literature from a variety of historical contexts; you will learn to think analytically about it, evaluate it, and locate it within its social and historical contexts.
It is recommended that you will have achieved at least a C Grade at GCSE in English Literature and English Language if you wish to pursue the subject further. If we do not have this, we can provide the tuition to get you the GCSE grade.
Please be aware that we can provice tuition to you for this A level, or any part of it, in the time scale which suits you. Whether it be 3 months, or 3 years we will teach you all that is required to get the very highest grade.
